Democrat for District Court Judge

More than ever, having the right person with the right experience on the bench matters. Gavin Reardon is that person for Guilford County District Court.

Why Vote 4 Reardon?

  • Expertise in criminal, civil and business law. Gavin is seeking appointment to the Guilford County District Court because he believes in fundamental fairness and an independent judiciary free from the influence of partisan politics. He has represented both civil and criminal clients in hundreds of cases.  He has prosecuted and defended criminal cases, and has represented plaintiffs and defendants in all types of civil cases in more than 25 of North Carolina's counties.  In addition, Gavin is one of only about 30 Board Certified Appellate Law Specialists in the entire state (out of 18,000 attorneys).  (He’s successfully argued appeals before the NC Court of Appeals, NC Supreme Court, and the U.S. Fourth Circuit.)  Gavin is the only candidate with this breadth of experience. Learn more about his experience.
  • Commitment to public serviceGavin rose from the ranks of infantry Private to become a senior military attorney ("Staff Judge Advocate") in the U.S. Marine Corps.  He initially left active service  in 1999 to begin his private law practice in Greensboro.  On 9/11, he requested to return to active service and served an additional five years of active duty. For his service in Iraq (his second tour), he was awarded a Bronze Star.  He retired in 2008 as a Lieutenant Colonel after 20 years of active service.  Read more of his story.

  •  Demonstrated integrity. Gavin has spent his entire career making tough calls in challenging situations. From the bench, he’ll take the same balanced approach, ensuring fair outcomes for ALL North Carolinians.  Read why Gavin is running and why he is the best candidate for your vote.

His clients, colleagues, friends and acquaintances will also tell you this Massachusetts native and long-time North Carolinian is wicked smart (he taught at MIT!) and wicked funny (but not nearly as funny as he thinks he is). See his credentials.
